English Language Challenges

In school, I enjoyed in sort of way the subject of english, and be able of have it again in University was nice, since it was something I conserved despite I finished school. I think the blog was a good idea to practice the use of english, but some themes were very specific (and maybe personal), which made it sometimes difficult to make them too longer. I think I need to improve my talking. I consider I can understand just fine most of what I’m hearing, but I never had the experience of actually talking in a conversation in english. I once met foreigners students that spoke english, but in the end I only heard and not talk. I consume english in most of audiovisual products and social media, or daily. The content in social media that I consume usually is in english, and since I have not problems in reading and hearing, I’m practically used to it.

Changes to my Study Program

I do not know very much about pedagogy, so I do not know about methods of teaching that are effective or corrects. However, I think I can consider a few things that could be included in my career, Cinema and tv. Personally, I want to be a screen writer, so I would implement more exercises (and classes) about writing and the dramatic structure of movies and tv series, especially if it is about works of fiction, since that is what I’d love to work in. Also, each genre of the cinematic industry has its own ways of development, with methods that must be analyzed and applied. It would never hurt watch movies, in a way that can be appreciate as examples of what you want to achieve. But, in my opinion, the movies should not be too long, because of the fact that you take time to see it and then analyze it, when you have other classes to focus on. In order to gain experience, there could be ideas of stories, thinking about a possible audiovisual piece about it, with the intention of practice in

Time travel to the future

Image
I find the present tedious, the past frustrating, and certainly, the future unpredictable. Even if I were asked “In which time (past, present, future) I would like to visit?”, the answer’ll be the same: Wherever if it's quiet. In this case, in the future, I would like to visit many years from today. It’s inevitable not to think the world in the future will be a lonely place in ruins. Let’s be honest, contamination, war, humanity itself, it’ll leave disaster in the distant future, and until the streets will be empty, and the cement will be cracked by plants growing up, there’s no future I’d like to visit. Basically, I’m describing a post-apocalyptic future, but not like it’s shown in the videogames or the movies. A future without mortal sicknesses, mutants, zombies, cults, monsters, dystopic societies, battles for gasoline and water. To be more precise, I’d like to visit a place in the future where the humankind is extinct, and I’d stay, because there’ll be no pressure coming

My future Job

I'd love to work as a scriptwriter, for movies and series. I imagine that being a guionist is a work in a desk, where the ideas appear and develop, then, I think there would be meetings with other script writers and producers, to plan and carry out the project. I like the creative side of cinema, the story, the plot, the characters, basically the creation of a new world. I think it would be a very flexible job, since a script can be adaptable for a movie, a series, even a video game. Writing is usually done in one place, like an office, but the creation of new ideas is made in the exterior, where anything can be used to write a whole new story.

My favorite TV show

My favorite TV show is Brooklyn 99. This series tells the daily experience of the 99 precinct in Brooklyn, New York. The story develops through the dynamic that the characters have: Jake is the childish (but talented) detective, Amy is the controlling and perfectionist one, Charles is the friendly character who worships his best friend, Rosa is the scary and mysterious one, Gina is the sarcastic and narcissistic secretary, Sargent Jeffords is like a loving father for all, and Capitan Holt is the serious and inexpressive boss, but who deep down cares about his squad. In each season there’s a Halloween special, where the characters make a bet and have to steal certain object before midnight to win. I like every special, but I like the season 4 special most, because in this one, Gina wins and proves that she is not less smart for not being a police officer. I’ve lost track the number of times I watched Brooklyn 99, but that doesn’t matter, since I always enjoy it like the first time

A person I would like to meet

Image
I’d really love to meet ONE, the artist behind the comics/manga “One punch-man” and “Mob psycho 100%”. He is a very reserved person, who uses a pseudonym to introduce himself to the world. Ironically, ONE is very bad at drawing, but the thing I really admire of him, is his imagination and sense of humor. The fact that he draws terribly has never stopped him from being recognized in the manga industry.  Many fans of the world, me included, love what he has done, and someday I hope to be like him, since, it doesn't matter the way he draws, only his feelings, intentions, and message in his work.

My life soundtrack

I'm not a fan, but there’s a band whose songs mean a lot to me.  The first time I listen of Glass Animals was   5 years ago. It was a very lonely moment in my life where I felt sad every day without knowing what to do about it, until the song “The Other Side Of Paradise” found me. In some way, that song helped me to understand that sadness is something you live with, and it can’t disappear because it is part of yourself. But also, every time I saw a video-clip or I listened to one of this band’s songs, I pictured stories that I considered worth to be told. I imagined a movie, or a series, of a man’s ghost seeing his son growing up, of a young soul abandoning his family to make his dream of being famous true, of a girl that lives eternally in the memory of the one person that considered her special, etc. Glass Animals ’ songs still inspire me, to continue imagining and transmiting stories that are as human as ourselves.
